Thema des Window Display von Elisabeth von Samsonow bei der One Gallery ist die produktive Beziehung (marriage) zwischen verschiedenen Gattungen, zwischen Baum und Mensch, zwischen Pferd und Mensch, zwischen Erde und Mensch. Die Welt projiziert ihre Organe auf die wunderbaren vergänglichen Kleinkörper.
MY GENDER IS MY INVENTION Collier SCHORR With the increasing digitization of contemporary artworks,"MY GENDER IS MY INVENTION"(MEIN GESCHLECHT HABE ICH MIR SELBST AUSGEDACHT) focusses on the artists internet representations. Set in 5 different countries, gender has a different appeal in the online world compared to the actual works in the exhibition which serve somehow as attachments to a much larger context in which they exist or do not exist. The show invites the visitors to compare - as they would when putting together a puzzle- of what they can see in the space on location and retrace online. Framed by a new window display created in July and based on an online picture, hiding and seeing is the new game of the internet based art society and this very exhibition. The exhibition "Silver and Gold" deals with the idea of value and the so called economic crisis in a poetic way. Inspired by gifts and exchanges it shows how artists surpass the economic systems of the world. One of the items in the show, the Rex Peeler was invented by Alfred Neweczerzal in 1947 and has proved itself a classic among kitchen tools-selling more than 60 million times worldwide since its invention more than half a century ago. It has an ingeniously minimalist design - a 13mm wide U-shaped bent stripe of aluminium with a pivoted sharp tempered steel blade and a side knife for cutting out eyes of potatoes. While more than a million standard Rex peelers are produced every year, the company also sells a gold-plated model of the tried and trusted tool. Featured in the window display of the gallery together with other real and fake gold and silver items it leaves the spectator wondering where to find the next needed investment. |

ONE GALLERY IN THE CENTER
Who asks locals about the identity of the quarter soon gets to hear that customs here are slightly rougher than at other places. In fact, Jewish Leopold City has a long tradition of resistance and the call for maladjustmen and contrariness, but also solidarity. The One Gallery was founded February 16th 2015 with the start of art production as an artist community. Till now the gallery is one of the most dominant work forces in the quarter. The existence of 99 artworks gives a clue about focus on tradition and that the cultural community life is an active one in fact.
One Gallery unites everyday culture and Contemporary Art in a dialogue and wants to support regional initiatives in the field of cultural work. A special interest is to make the audience more sensitive and develop current ways of promotion. In the center the joy is prevalent to celebrate a large party where the components of sharpness, artistic substance, humor and cultural life together merge into a liaison. Like society One Gallery is always in motion. That works best, when it finds new locations again and again, where the subjects of time crystallize. In the transfer of the program One Gallery tries to involve the local community in the form of an as open as possible dialogue. When it succeeds to position One Gallery in space and leave traces it was an success.
